Certification Introduction

The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) is the abbreviation for Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) of Taiwan, which has a quality management system in place to legally inspect and test products (including electrical products) intended for sale, import or any commercial use in Taiwan. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan, from July 1, 2005, products entering Taiwan are subject to the regulation of both electromagnetic compatibility and safety regulations, and after 2009, the energy efficiency requirements for air conditioners and refrigerators were included in the scope of BSMI control.

The BSMI certificate holder must be a local company in Taiwan, and the test report must be issued by a BSMI-accredited laboratory in Taiwan, and generally by virtue of the tariff code CCC code to determine whether it falls within the scope of BSMI control, generally CCC code is provided by the manufacturer. According to different products and certification requirements, BSMI is divided into the following three certification modes.

1. Type Approval (TA, Type Approval)

Applicable to electrical and electronic products, listed EMC+Safety. implemented on November 1, 2002, replacing the electromagnetic compatibility management system EMC MS. applicable to the production of a variety of products manufacturers, to take a batch-by-batch inspection, each customs incoming goods need to be added to the inspection fee. The certificate is valid for 3 years and can be renewed once.

2. Verification registration (RPC, Registration of product Certification )

Applicable to electrical and electronic products, listed EMC + Safety. 1 January 1999 implementation. Applicable to manufacturers who produce a single product and must be sold for a long time, no additional fee for each subsequent customs entry. Annual fee is required. The certificate is valid for 3 years and can be renewed once. 3.

3. Declaration of Conformity (DOC, Declaration of Conformity)

The customer self-declares and applies for payment of fees to BSMI. It is only applicable to information technology equipment parts and components products, listed EMC+Safety. 16 January 2000. The certificate is valid forever, but may need to be retested due to the age of the replacement standard.

Product range

The product range is divided according to the certification mode, 3 different certification modes, control different product range, the basic TA and PRC control the same products, DOC control products and TA / PRC do not overlap. Details are as follows.

1. Type Approval (TA, Type Approval)

2. Registration of certification (RPC, Registration of product Certification )

Control 148 types, including electric blankets, fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, water dispensers, dishwashers, electric motors, juicers, water heaters, irons, induction cookers, switches, plugs and sockets, wires and cables, textiles, lamps, etc.

3. Declaration of Conformity (DOC, Declaration of Conformity)

Control 30 kinds of typewriters, cash registers, electronic calculators, disk drives, cameras/camcorders, USB flash drives/mobile hard drives, optical drives, etc.

Application process

1.Customer prepare sample and information

2.Engineer check the sample, information and sample are OK, application is submitted to Waltek

3.Waltek submits the samples and information to the Taiwan partner lab for testing

4. The lab will issue a report and submit it to BSMI, which will issue a certificate.

Certification Mark

The logo can be printed by the manufacturer itself, can be scaled, and can be printed on the product itself or on the outer packaging or on the hangtag. R3A001 for example, R represents the certification mode is RPC, 3 represents the inspection bureau jurisdiction code, A001 is a running number code, issued by the inspection bureau. Identification code can be marked on the bottom or right side of the inspection mark, as the following example.

Certificate validity.

Factory inspection requirements: generally no factory inspection. Only for verification of landing (2 + 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 mode), you can provide the ISO certificate to meet the requirements of exemption from factory inspection.

Introduction of NCC Taiwan

Certification Introduction

NCC is the abbreviation of National Communications Commission of Taiwan, which is also the name of the wireless communication certification under its control. In response to the global trend of digital convergence development and regulatory innovation, as well as the integration of the existing fragmentation of communications and communications, the government recommended in the 8th Strategy Meeting on Electronics, Information and Telecommunications (SRB Meeting) of the Executive Yuan in R.O.C. 87 to plan for the establishment of an integrated telecommunications information and communications regulatory body. The two bills that established the NCC, the Basic Law of Communication and the Organic Law of the National Communication Commission, were published and put into effect on January 7, 1993 and November 9, 1994, respectively, and the NCC was officially established on February 22, 1995.

The NCC requires all telecommunication terminal equipment, low power RF motors and telecommunication regulated RF devices to be formally approved before they can be sold in the market.

Controlled Products

NCC mainly controls the following two types of products.

Telecom terminal equipment verification project (Telecom).

1. Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN): telephone / automatic alarm equipment / telephone answering machine / fax machine / remote control device / wired telephone wireless primary and secondary machine / user-owned switch / keypad telephone system / computer telephone integration equipment / data equipment / caller ID terminal equipment / 2.4GHz radio frequency telecommunications terminal equipment / VoIP network telephone.

2.Land-based Mobile Communication Network (PLMN): Radio Caller System Terminal Equipment / Mobile Data Terminal Equipment / Trunked Wireless Telephone / GSM Mobile Telephone and Terminal Equipment / 1880~1895MHz Wireless PBX and Terminal Equipment / DCS1800 Mobile Telephone and Terminal Equipment / Third Generation Mobile Communication Terminal Equipment.

Low Power RF Motor Products (RF).

1. Low-power RF motors with operating frequency below 1GHz.

2. Low-power RF motors operating at frequencies above 1GHz, except those using frequency hopping (frequency hopping) or digital modulation (digitally modulated).

3. Wireless information transmission equipment (Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure) or the use of frequency hopping (frequency hopping) or digital modulation.

Application process

1. The customer prepares samples and information and submits the application to Waltek.

2. Waltek submits the samples and information to the Taiwan Qualification Laboratory for testing

3. Taiwan qualified laboratory will conduct the test and issue the test report after the test is completed, and submit the report to NCC

4. NCC audit report and other application documents, no problem to issue NCC certificate

Certification mark

1, NCC logo: NCC LOGO must be larger than 15mm.

2、Label: must be added on the product itself, if the product is too small, it can be printed on the smallest package.
