What is GEMS certification How to apply for GEMS certification

What is GEMS certification and what is GEMS regulation? GEMS certification, GEMS regulations, from October 1, 2012, Australia officially implemented a new energy efficiency certification mark that is GEMS certification, used to replace the previous MEPS certification, there will be no MEPS statement, the transition period is October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013.

In order to improve the energy efficiency of electrical equipment and products in various industries and to enhance significant economic and environmental benefits, Australia and New Zealand issued Greenhouse and Energy Low Standard Technology Regulations (GEMS for short) and came into effect on October 1, 2012, the new GEMS regulations not only cover the previous major policy work, the mandatory minimum performance standards (MEPS for short). MEPS registration, compared to the past, applicants are not able to choose any state registration in the Australian official website, instead of a unified to Australian Regulator registration, at the same time, in each state and jurisdiction in Australia, for all product types, GEMS regulations no longer set a single registration fee, product types will be divided into four categories, the registration fee from $440 to $780. Registration fees will range from A$440 to A$780 and the registration period will be 5 years.

GEMS certification is a mandatory energy efficiency certification implemented by the Australian and New Zealand governments from October 1, 2012, replacing MEPS certification. Since GEMS certification stipulates that the application must be registered by local applicants in Australia or New Zealand, to a certain extent, there are certain trade barriers to Chinese products.
