Argentina Certification
IRAM S-mark certification
Certification Introduction
The IRAM Safety Mark is a mandatory (except for exempted products) certification mark in Argentina. The certification system was made mandatory in Argentina by Resolution 92/98, adopted in 1998, and since December 31, 2002, regulated products are subject to conformity assessment by a certification body accredited by the Argentina Accreditation Organization (OAA). Manufacturers can attach the Argentine S mark to products that comply with the standard, and products are evaluated according to IEC standards plus Argentine differences or Argentine standards.
Argentine regulations require mandatory safety certification for all electrical and electronic products with an AC voltage between 50 and 1000 Vac or a DC voltage between 50 and 1500 Vdc. Certification modes mainly include type certification, batch certification and mark certification, depending on the product type, customers can choose any of the following modes.
Type certification / batch certification: type test + post-certification supervision and inspection
Marking certification: type test + factory inspection + post-certification supervision and inspection
The evaluation criteria of the products are mainly based on the Argentine national IRAM standards (most of them are developed with reference to IEC standards), or the Argentine national differences are added on the basis of IEC standards. For electronic products, most home appliances and some lighting products, Argentine certification bodies accept valid CB certificates issued by certification bodies with mutual recognition agreements + complete CB test reports.
Product Scope
Argentine regulations require mandatory safety certification for all electrical and electronic products with AC voltage between 50 and 1000Vac or DC voltage between 50 and 1500Vdc.
Application process
1. The customer sends a sample to Waltek laboratory, Waltek issues a test report
2. (If logo certification is required) At the same time, apply to the issuing organization for the first factory inspection
3. After the test and factory inspection are completed, the issuing organization will issue IRAM Safety Mark certificate based on documentary audit and after the audit is passed.

Energy Label
Introduction to Certification
In May 1999, the Argentine National Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry issued Resolution No. 319/99 to implement an energy efficiency certification labeling system for a variety of household appliances, including refrigerators, refrigeration equipment, washing machines, lighting equipment and air conditioners. Argentina's energy efficiency levels are divided into seven levels: A, B, C, D, E, F and G, with the highest energy efficiency level of A. The energy efficiency label must indicate the energy efficiency level of the product and the test method used. The resolution stipulates that manufacturers, importers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers must first obtain product certification that their products meet the required technical standards before they can enter the Argentine market.
